The quality family is the prosperous family, healthy, progressive, andrnindependent, has the ideal number of children, a conception to the future,rnresponsible, harmonious ang god-fearing to God. To get the quality humanrnresources required control birthrate through various efforts from the personalrnapproach and the provision of intrauterine device. Among contraceptive methodsrnis one of them is IUD, from the IUD way of work, IUD side effect, IUDrnindications, and IUD contra indications. This research was conducted to know thernlevel of mother knowlwedge about IUD Intra Uterine Device side effects in thernknowing and understanding level.rnThis research used descriptive research, subject taken from the populationrnby a simple random sampling from a population of 102 mothers using intrauterinerndevice, the variable is the level of mother knowledge about the IUD intrauterinerndevice side effects, and the sample taken 30 respondents.rnAfter analysis of data found that the level of mother knowledge of knowingrn40% was good, 20% was enough, 20% was less good and 20% was not good.rnWhile the level of mother knowledge of understanding 40% was good, 23,33%rnwas good enough, 13,34% was less good and 23,33% was not good. On the knowrnlevel was good because the mother be able to remember and mentioned the IUDrnintrauterine device, and the level of understanding because the mother be able tornunderstand and explain correctly about IUD intrauterine device. Because thernmother received information about contraception especially IUD from somerndirection such as their own experience, counseling, information from print media ,rnelectronic media, and health officer. And suggestions from this research for therncommunity to increase the knowledge about the IUD intrauterine device through arncadre and midwives as the procedures in providing counseling
